Remove floor paint if necessary. Epoxy paint is a tough and hard wearing water based paint which can be used on almost any surface from walls and ceilings to floors and stairs. Apply the product with a roller. If your floor is covered in one of these materials you will need to strip your floor before you can begin the epoxy process.

Step 2 we prep the entire floor with a dust free diamond grinder. Poor mixing will lead to a tacky floor. For a large area you might try soda blasting the paint. This process removes a thin layer of concrete along with stains dirt and oils and allows for a superior mechanical bond with the epoxy.

Garage floor epoxy flooring is a tough long lasting coating that you paint onto the concrete. Proper mixing of the two epoxy paint components is very important. Epoxy coating will not work properly if it is applied over polyurethane or latex floor paints. An epoxy garage floor resists grease oil and many other substances that would ruin ordinary paint.

Garage floor epoxy paints clean easily and can be found in a variety of colors if you look hard enough so you can keep your garage floor paints. Epoxy paint is also exceedingly resistant to scratching and grazing meaning that it won t be damaged by the general wear and tear of daily life. You should be able to re coat after 24 hours. Preparing the concrete is the most important step in the installation process.
